Purpose

The encoder is designed to convert SD and HD standard signals, and input HD/SDSDI and HDMI and CVBS signals into MPEG-4 /AVC(MPEG-4 Part 10) signal, corresponding in its performance standards ITU-T H. 264 standard and the ISO/IEC MPEG-4 Part 10 standard and Mpeg2 standard.

A distinctive feature of the encoder is the ability to work with 2 software output ASI stream and 2 IP streams, but with different image resolution. One of the streams is a stream with a channel that can have a resolution from 1920x1080 and below (adjustable resolution), and the second stream is a stream that can have a low resolution of 320x240 and below (adjustable resolution).

Streams are broadcast at the same time. One stream can be used for high-quality broadcasting, and the second for broadcasting to mobile devices, the Internet, etc.for this purpose, the encoder provides the ability to switch streams to any of the 2 ASI outputs, as well as to any of the 2 IP addresses. A low-resolution stream can be disabled programmatically.

The ability to operate the encoder in SD mode and HD mode allows you to fully use the capabilities of the encoder.

The use of MPEG4/AVC encoder in digital cable television, MMDS, DVB-T, allows you to transmit more programs in the stream (compared to MPEG2), which reduces the cost per program. The encoder operates in real time and can be used to convert a digital signal where there is a need to increase the amount of data transmitted without loss of quality.

HD mode allows you to get a high-quality HD image on the TV screen even at relatively low flow rates. So with a stream of 6 Mbit / cek and a resolution of 1920x1080x50i, the quality of HD pictures visually on the TV screen can be estimated as quite good.

The encoder allows a wide range to change the resolution of the output signal. This can be done by selecting fixed values, or by entering the desired resolution.

Functionality

  • The encoder allows you to input SD/HD SDI/HDMI/CVBS signals and process them according to MPEG4 or MPEG2 digital compression algorithms. For HD and SD signals are Main, High Profile and Level 1.2 - 4.2. The speed of the output stream may be in the range of 500 kbit/p s — 15Mb/ps.
  • The audio signal is encoded according to the MPEG1 Layer 2 standard.
  • When encoding the signal in MPEG2, there can be only one stream and only SD format at the output.
  • When working with an SDI signal with embedded sound, the band and stereo pair of the input signal are selected programmatically. It is possible to select an analog balanced audio input as the audio source.
  • Encoder output-ASI transport stream (EN 50083-9:1998) - 2 ASI outputs as well as IP stream (2 IP addresses).
